Financial adviser reaching out to medical students

DOWNERS GROVE - Adam Glassberg, a financial adviser with Savant Wealth Management, has been an advocate for financial literacy among Chicago's young medical professionals since 2013.

Glassberg, who works out of the firm's Downers Grove office, has been presenting to University of Illinois at Chicago medical school students, teaching them the financial planning tools and techniques needed to help balance student loan debt repayment with short- and long-term savings goals. His presentations cover credit reporting, student loan debt repayment strategies, insurance, cash flow, and the basics of investing.

He also has been presenting on the same topics to University of Chicago residents and fellows since 2020. This year, Glassberg has nearly 10 presentations scheduled at UIC and U of C.

"Even in today's virtual environment, the medical students, residents and fellows are very engaged and interested in financial planning topics," said Glassberg. "The needs of balancing debt repayment and wealth accumulation along with a late-starting career are unique challenges that I enjoy helping young medical professionals work through."
