'Parenting the Love and Logic Way' begins April 8 in Wheaton
"Parenting the Love and Logic Way," a six-week class for parents of children newborn to high school age, will be held at St. Matthew United Church of Christ in Wheaton. It will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sundays starting on April 8 and ending on May 13. The sessions are free.
For over 40 years, the Love and Logic Institute has been teaching simple and practical techniques to help parents and caregivers have less stress and more fun while raising responsible kids.
"Love and Logic" encourages a loving and balanced approach to interactions with children. Focusing on nurturing long-term relations and reinforcing good character is essential to "Love and Logic." You will walk out of each session with information and ideas that you can use right away.
Topics to be covered include avoiding power struggles, setting limits, and ending arguing. Each session will concentrate on a different topic.
Peter Martin, a middle school social worker who also has experience as a child welfare and early intervention specialist will lead the class. Martin has over 10 years' experience using and teaching "Love and Logic" both personally and professionally.
