Schaumburg-based law firm Lavelle Law, Ltd. has announced the hiring of attorney Laura Ladon Ellis. She most recently practiced at Rabin, Kodner & Brown in Des Plaines.

Ellis has extensive experience in estate planning and Social Security benefit claims. She has been practicing law in Illinois since 2008 including several years in private practice.

"We were very impressed with Laura's history of building a client base in each of her previous engagements," said Lavelle Law Managing Partner Ted McGinn. "She has a strong ability to empathize and connect with potential clients, and has demonstrated an ability to then provide very personal, professional service to her clients."

Ellis received her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin before earning her J.D. from the Creighton University School of Law. She has been admitted to the Bar in both Illinois and Texas.

"I'm very pleased to have the opportunity to take this next step in my career," said Ellis. "The attorneys at Lavelle Law are highly regarded and I particularly look forward to being a part of a firm in which my colleagues and I can work across multiple areas of the practice providing a very cohesive and comprehensive level of service to clients."

Ellis will focus much of her work in the estate planning group.
