The Lake County coroner released the name of the man who died after being struck by a car Tuesday morning while he was riding a bicycle in the middle of Route 12 in Fox Lake.

Kevin McKenzie, a 55-year-old Fox Lake man, died from multiple traumatic injuries related to the crash, according to the autopsy performed Wednesday morning by Lake County Coroner Dr. Howard Cooper.

The crash happened at about 7:45 a.m. near Riverside Island Drive. Police said McKenzie was riding in the center median of the road when he was hit by a Saturn driven by a 46-year-old woman, police said.

McKenzie was pronounced dead on the scene. No one else was hurt.

Fox Lake police, the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team and the Lake County coroner's office are investigating the crash.

Cooper said toxicology results are pending.
