Once the lights are hung, cookies made and tree decorated, shoppers may want to stop at Starbucks to grab a Christmas Tree Frappuccino to help put them in the shopping mood this weekend.
The coffee giant is offering a holiday frappuccino through Monday, Dec. 11.
The Christmas Tree Frappuccino starts with a Peppermint Mocha Crème Frappuccino and is topped with Matcha whipped cream, which is supposed to give the drink a Christmas tree appearance. The tree is "decorated" with caramel drizzle for garland, candied cranberries as ornaments, and is topped with a strawberry.
The release of the Christmas drink follows several Halloween-inspired drinks in October. The Zombie Frappuccino contained green caramel apple powder, pink "brains" whipped cream and a "pink mocha drizzle."
The Christmas tree beverage, like its other seasonal specialty frozen drinks, is sparking interest on social media. Tweets, almost always containing pictures of the beverage, were all over Twitter Thursday.
"Finally a new @Starbucks frapp that I can vouch is yummy! If you like mint chocolate treats this is the one! #christmastreefrappuccino," one tweet said.
An Instagram Frappuccino video with the new tree drink strapped to the top of a car had more than 20,000 views late Thursday afternoon. And an Instagram picture showing the limited-time beverage had more than 364,000 "likes" during the first day of the sales.
