Roselle real estate agent pleads guilty to burglary charges
A former Roselle real estate agent, already on probation in Cook County for similar charges, has pleaded guilty to arranging phony home showings to steal jewelry from houses in Wheaton and Glen Ellyn.
Jamie Detwiler, 39, of the 0-100 block of West Hattendorf Avenue, pleaded guilty Thursday to residential burglary in DuPage County.
According to court documents, Detwiler is accused of stealing a woman's diamond ring on Sept. 23, 2016, from a home on the 600 block of Lake Road in Glen Ellyn and a gold necklace with a diamond pendant on Sept. 29, 2016, from a home on the 1800 block of West Creekside Drive in Wheaton.
Judge Liam Brennan also adjusted her home-confinement bail conditions to allow her to attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings. Brennan will hand down her sentence on Dec. 20.
Detwiler previously pleaded guilty to residential burglary in April in Cook County. In that case, she was sentenced to 24 months of TASC probation, court records show. TASC -- which stands for Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities -- is an alternative to incarceration for nonviolent offenders with substance abuse problems.
