Author at Grayslake school:
"Aiden of Oren" trilogy author Alan St. Jean will speak again to all fifth- and sixth-grade students during multimedia morning assemblies today at Frederick School in Grayslake. St. Jean, a Michigan author, plans to discuss the writing process in a presentation applicable to all ages. He'll also lead writing workshops drawing from lessons learned from the assemblies. St. Jean also appeared at the school Monday. St. Jean is known for visiting schools and teaching students about the writing process. He's scheduled to be available to sign books purchased at today's event at Frederick School.
Senior aerobics in Lindenhurst:
The Lindenhurst Park District is offering aerobics classes for senior citizens at the facility at 2200 E. Grass Lake Road. Senior Aerobics is a low-impact workout, set to a video that improves flexibility and cardiovascular function and boosts metabolism. Keep fit and active and meet other seniors. Registration is not required. Aerobics is held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:45 a.m.-9:30 a.m. The cost is $1 per visit. For more details call (847) 356-6011.
Run WITH the Law in Antioch:
The Antioch Police Department in conjunction with Special Olympics Illinois will be hosting a Run WITH the Law torch run on Friday, Nov. 27. This event starts at 5 p.m. at Antioch Upper Grade School, 800 Highview Drive. The run will begin at 6:10 p.m. and head toward the bandshell for the Annual Christmas Parade.
