Elgin man denies molesting 6-year-old

An Elgin man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges he sexually assaulted a 6-year-old girl, according to court records.

Jesus Urieta-Dominguez, 29, is charged with one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of predatory criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony.

Police said the assault took place Jan. 17 at Urieta-Dominguez's apartment on the 400 block of Jewett Street. The victim reported the incident to her mother a short time later.

If convicted of the most serious offense, Urieta-Dominguez could face up to 30 years in prison.

He remained in the Kane County jail Wednesday on $500,000 bail. He needs to pay $50,000 to be released. His next court date is Sept. 2 in front of Judge T. Jordan Gallagher.
