Stevenson sweeps Buffalo Grove
Stevenson's softball team defeated Buffalo Grove 13-3 and 8-6 on Saturday to hike its winning streak to three games and pull above the .500 mark at 11-9.
In Game 1, Stevenson's 17-hit attack was led by Jordan Willis (3-for-3, triple, 3 RBI), Emma Patrash (3-for-4, RBI) and Rebekah Ozga (3-for-4, triple, 2 RBI). The winners received 2 hits apiece from Amanda Jaegers (RBI), Allie Micucci (triple, double, 3 RBI) and Ashley Niedermayer.
Micucci pitched all 5 innings for the win.
Stevenson's offense didn't let up in Game 2, as the Patriots produced 13 more hits. Patrash went 3-for-5 with a triple, while Niedermayer homered, singled and knocked in 3 runs. Micucci and Genny Duffy (RBI) also had 2 hits, while Willis earned the win in the circle.
Grant 10, Highland Park 0: Brie Brugioni fired a 5-inning 2-hitter with 10 strikeouts for the Bulldogs in the nonconference game.
Brugioni and Kelly Kucharski had doubles for Grant (9-8).
Barrington sweeps Libertyville: The host Fillies (16-3) won twice by 6-1 finals at the Fields of Dreams.
Barrington's Kiley Dolezal improved to 14-3 in the opener, as she allowed only 3 hits. The Fillies received 2 hits apiece from Colleen Shandley (RBI), Courtney Blum (double, RBI) and Kesley Kazmier (2 RBI).
In Game 2, half of Libertyville's 4 hits came on doubles by Mandy Vogg and Nicole Kruckman.
Barrington's Loren Krzysko picked up her first win. The Fillies were led offensively by Shandley (2-for-2), Kristin Kuhn (2-for-4), Elizabeth Owen (2-for-4, 2 RBI) and Dana Moran (2-for-4, double, 3 RBI).
