Ind. men gets 6 years for sex with girl, 14
LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A western Indiana man who prosecutors say flew cross-country to have sex with a 14-year-old California girl has been sentenced to more than six years in prison.
The Journal & Courier reports 22-year-old Erik S. Epperson of Veedersburg was sentenced last week to six-and-a-half years in prison for having sex last January with a 14-year-old girl he met through a mutual friend on Facebook.
Epperson pleaded guilty to one count of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct. FBI agents in San Diego and Terre Haute began investigating him in March when the girl’s friend told a school official about her relationship with Epperson.
Epperson allegedly had sexual relationships with 10 underage girls in Indiana and Illinois, but he hasn’t been formally charged in those cases.
