McHenry woman injured in Spring Grove crash

A McHenry woman was injured in a single vehicle crash in Spring Grove.

Marleana J. Gongola, 54, of 6000 Whiting Drive, was heading south on Wilmot Road at 3:17 p.m. Tuesday when her 2002 Pontic Grand Prix left the roadway near Sunset Drive for an unknown reason and struck a utility pole, McHenry County Sheriff’s Office officials said Wednesday.

Gongola was taken by Flight for Life to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where she is listed in stable condition.

Officials said the woman was wearing a seat belt and air bags deployed in the vehicle.

Members of the Spring Grove Fire Protection District, Spring Grove Police, Johnsburg Police, and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the accident.

The traffic crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Accident Investigation Unit.
