Hart powers Brewers past Padres 9-5
MILWAUKEE — Corey Hart hit two homers, rookie Martin Maldonado connected for a three-run shot and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the San Diego Padres 9-5 on Friday night.
Pinch-hitter Taylor Green contributed a two-run homer as Milwaukee earned its third consecutive victory after losing three of four at the beginning of its nine-game homestand. Shaun Marcum (5-3) pitched into the sixth inning to stretch his personal win streak to three starts.
Edinson Volquez (2-6) allowed six runs and six hits in five innings for San Diego.
