Science champs at Frederick School
Grayslake Elementary District 46’s Frederick School brought home a first-place finish in the Illinois Science Olympiad competition. District 46 Superintendent Ellen Correll told board members at a meeting Wednesday she was proud of the fifth- and sixth-graders who competed last weekend at University of Illinois. “They competed against mostly (older) middle school (students), from across the state, in their same division,” Correll said. The event encompasses all areas of science in the same competition. Biology, chemistry, earth science and physics are emphasized with engineering and technology applications that combine several of those disciplines.
