Colley Elevator receives continuing education certification for CMCA credit

Colley Elevator Co. in Bensenville announced the recent certification of its "Elevator 101" course for continuing education credit.

The course is approved by Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB) to fulfill one hour of continuing education requirements for the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®) certification. Established by Community Associations Institute (CAI), the CAMICB was formed to administer a national, voluntary certification program for community association managers.

The course is aimed at providing community association managers and property managers with a better understanding of their elevator equipment. Initially presented as a ‘Lunch and Learn' workshop earlier this summer, the course elaborates on code mandates, equipment obsolescence, preventative maintenance, and capital planning for modernizations. It is designed and given by one of the company's Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certified staff.

"Our goal with developing the course is to educate managers so they become a better resource for condominium boards and the buildings they serve," says Craig Zomchek, the company's Managing Partner, "As proud members of the Illinois branch of CAI for many years, we're honored to have the opportunity to help educate other members."
