Will GOP congressmen stand up to Trump?
In just one week, Donald Trump displayed his narcissistic, petulant attitude each time he signed and held up one of his edicts. He and his bigoted advisers continue to divide this nation with his truly un-American acts.
Lacking any concern for the values and principles of these United States, Trump's ego blinds him to the overwhelming condemnation of his unconstitutional actions. How sad that a young mother and her 6-month-old baby were detained at O'Hare because they are Muslim. That child is an American citizen who, one day, could become President. All people of all backgrounds are welcome, not just those Trump and his narrow-minded advisers deem worthy.
And where in all this constitutional controversy are our Republican Reps. Peter Roskam (6th District) and Randy Hultgren (14th District)? Are they not aware of the thousands of their constituents who are on Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security and of those receiving medical insurance because of the Affordable Care Act?
Are they not aware of the thousands of immigrants from all nations who reside within their districts, as well as the thousands with different religious practices? Do Reps. Roskam and Hultgren have the courage and moral fortitude to support American values and the United States Constitution or will they support without question the actions of Trump?
