Campton Hills pizza place burglarized

A West Chicago man has been charged with burglarizing a Campton Hills pizza parlor over the weekend, police said Monday.

Mark D. Jendrzejczyk, 37, of the 27W300 block of Geneva Street, was arrested Sunday after the early morning break-in at Pizza Cucina, 40W450 Route 64.

Officers responded around 1:20 a.m. after a resident who lives in an apartment above the eatery found shattered glass at the rear entrance. While investigating, police discovered a vehicle registered to Jendrzeczyk parked nearby and other evidence tying him to the crime, Police Chief Greg Anderson said.

Jendrzeczyk was charged with burglary, theft and driving while license revoked. Anderson said business owners Monday were still totaling how much money was taken and trying to determine whether anything else was stolen.

Jendrzeczyk, who appears to have no other criminal history in Kane County, faces up to seven years in prison or probation if convicted of the most serious charge.

He remained in the county jail Monday with bail set at $40,000 pending a Jan. 8 court appearance.
