Welcome to real world, CN foes

Reading about all the protests regarding the potential EJ&E sale to CN makes me wonder. The railroad tracks have been in place for what, a hundred years? Is anyone surprised that they might be used? What if the EJ&E had an upturn in business and began running more trains on their own, would there be such an uproar? What if they allowed CN to use their tracks without being sold to them? There are many communities, including mine, that live with much more rail traffic and guess what, we survive. Oh yes, affluent people who live in places like Barrington might be inconvenienced. Oh well, welcome to the real world. Would you really like to hear about being inconvenienced? What about the village of Bensenville? They are losing businesses, homes and parks to the O'Hare expansion project. The airport is being expanded into their community; they are not building closer to it. They and other communities will have more cancer-causing agents spread into the atmosphere by more and more pollution causing aircraft. Where is Barrington on that one? Oh yeah, they're too busy worrying about waiting for a train at a road crossing.
