Northern Kane County Chamber recognizes businesses and community members

The Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce recently announced the recipients of its 2024 awards presented at the chamber’s annual awards dinner held at the Holiday Inn in Elgin on Oct. 5.

The individuals and businesses recognized with chamber awards for going above and beyond the call of duty are: Duke’s Blues-N-BBQ — Community Partner; Kim Gonzalez — Distinguished Leadership; Van’s Frozen Custard & Burgers — Customer Service; Larkin Floral — New Business of the Year; and Santa’s Village Amusement & Water Park — Business of the Year.

In addition, recognition was given to individuals for leadership in their individual communities including: Jo Maniscalco, Village of Carpentersville; Phil Aleo, Village of East Dundee; Alana Woodbury, Village of Gilberts; and Jerry Christopherson and Jay Hunt, Village of West Dundee.

“We are pleased to honor all of our recipients,” said Melissa Hernandez, president, Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce. “The chamber is grateful to all of them for their continued inspiration. We were so happy to have our chamber founder, Jim Brasel, who traveled from Missouri to attend our annual dinner, too. He received a very well-deserved standing ovation from everyone for the valuable legacy he started for our communities.”

Chamber chair Michael Simpson thanked board members and membership for their continued support and attendance at chamber’s luncheons, business ribbon cuttings, and other significant chamber events.
