Huntley church to host free holiday concert
Artists Lounge Live will present Chicago’s favorite leading lady in a live free performance of “Merry Christmas Darling, Heidi Kettenring Sings Karen Carpenter” at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley, on Sunday, Dec. 8.
Sponsored by the SOTP Artist Series, the community is invited to attend this free holiday performance at 5 p.m. at the church, 10805 Main St. No tickets are required and freewill donations are gratefully accepted.
In the spirit of the holiday season, the Artist Series also will present a silent auction with “The 12 Days of Christmas” themed gift baskets for the holidays starting at 4 p.m. Guests are invited to come early and join in the festivities.
During the performance, leading lady Kettenring and her exceptional band will present the timeless treasures and holiday hits of Karen Carpenter. A storyteller sure to stir the heart, multi-award winner Kettenring tenderly chronicles Carpenter’s troubles and triumphs with a familiar angelic radiance.
Songs include “Close To You,” “Merry Christmas Darling,” “For All We Know,” and “The Christmas Song.”
Kettenring starred as Nessarose in the blockbuster musical “Wicked: (Broadway Chicago) and Belle in the national tour of “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.” She has many theater credits nationwide, including “The King and I” (Anna, Jeff Award, Broadway World Award), “Oliver!” (Nancy, Jeff Award); “Hello Dolly!” (Dolly Levi); among many other blockbuster performances.
She is a graduate of Northwestern University and married to actor David Girolmo.
The company, Artists Lounge Live, presents timeless popular music performed by singular talents in captivating concerts marked by superb musicianship and intimate storytelling. The Chicago-based company is created and produced by married team Michael and Angela Ingersoll.
Michael Ingersoll is an all-around entertainer and producer. Angel Ingersoll is an Emmy-Award nominated actor, singer, and writer. She previously performed her popular “Get Happy: Angela Ingersoll Sings Judy Garland” at the Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, sponsored Artist Series.
