Sheriff’s fall community police academy class begins
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office’s community police academy begins the week of Sept. 16 and runs through Nov. 18.
Classes will be held Mondays at the sheriff’s substation in Libertyville and headquarters in Waukegan. The academy is open to Lake County residents 18 and older of good moral character and with no felony convictions.
This is a free series of events. Participants will get an in-depth view of various responsibilities of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and an inside look at the corrections, patrol, court security and criminal investigations divisions, crash investigations unit, evidence collection/processing and more.
