Politicians lie because we let them

Within months after taking office in 2017, Donald Trump said that some of his campaign promises were only to get elected and not things that he intended to do. He said that he frequently lies for personal gain. It was an unbelievable thing for a president to say. It was incredible that people ignored and quickly forgot about it: “So what? All politicians lie.”

Trump is still the same. Nobody should believe him because he said so, but many people do anyway.

Politicians do lie a lot, because lies are more persuasive than truth to people who only care about what they want to hear.

People need to do some real research in credible places and learn to think logically so that they can see through the lies told by both sides.

Personal attacks and insults are being used more than discussion of the real issues because that is what persuades people and wins elections.

It is the people who make things that way.
