DuPage County hosts inaugural mental health summit

DuPage County will host its first mental health summit on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The summit, hosted by DuPage County Board Chair Deborah Conroy and the DuPage County Health Department, will give attendees a chance to learn about the services and support offered for mental health and substance use treatment.

“Our goal is to continue to fight the stigma surrounding mental health and substance use treatment,” Conroy said. “We hope to bring together professionals, advocates and community members to address the pressing issues surrounding mental health while fostering a supportive environment for those affected by mental health and substance use challenges.”

The summit will include a keynote address from Congressman Patrick Kennedy and a panel discussion with experts, policy makers and individuals with lived experience.

Tours of the drug court and mental illness court alternative programs will be offered as well as a mental health expo fair.
