Wheaton church to host ‘Worship in the Park’ on Aug. 18
Enjoy the last days of summer with a worship in Memorial Park in Wheaton.
Gary United Methodist Church will hold ‘Worship in the Park’ on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. in Memorial Park, 225 Karlskoga Ave.
The service will include music, prayer, Scripture reading, children’s time and a sermon. Bring a lawn chair or blanket or use one of the provided theater seats. All are welcome to worship and enjoy a picnic lunch after the service. Bring a salad or dessert to share.
The church at 224 N. Main St. in Wheaton offers 9 a.m. summer Sunday worship (except for “Worship in the Park” on Aug. 18 at 10 a.m.). The regular summer 9 a.m. worship is complete with Kids’ Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org.
At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called “Special Blend.” The church will resume its 10 a.m. Sunday school hour for all ages and 11:11 a.m. worship on Sept. 8. With deep roots in the community since 1853, the church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions.
