Batavia Art League to hold inaugural meeting Sept. 4

The Batavia Art League, co-founded by Julia Kim, Sarah Reeves and Ann Alexander, will hold its first meeting Sept. 4.

The art league welcomes anyone with an interest in creating art, and embrace working in all types of mediums, including; watercolor, oil, acrylic, color pencils, alcohol markers, pastels, charcoal, mixed media, print making, jewelry clay, weaving and more.

Regardless of your skill level, whether you are a novice or a seasoned master, the art league is a space where artists of all backgrounds can come together and learn, teach and create in the same room.

To sustain the artistic community, a membership fee of $50 a year has been established. This fee will contribute to covering room rental as well as compensating visiting artists. It does not, however, cover any art materials. Each member must bring the supplies they wish to use.

The Batavia Art League will meet from 9:30 a.m. to noon Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 4, at Paxton Hall in the Congregational Church of Batavia, 21 S. Batavia Ave. (across the street from the library). Use the church’s south parking lot and entrance.

You are invited to join the Batavia Art League in creating a vibrant art league right here in Batavia. For information, contact juliakimflowers@yahoo.com or (331) 643-5724.
