North Shore School District 112 Board of Education approves leadership positions for the 2024-2025 school year

At Tuesday night’s meeting, the North Shore School District 112 Board of Education unanimously approved several key administrative positions for the 2024-2025 school year.

James Bock is set to take on the role of director of operations, facilities and transportation, elevating from his position within the district’s maintenance team, a role he has dedicated himself to since 2020. Before his tenure with District 112, Bock’s career spanned diverse experiences in the private sector, complemented by his honorable service in the United States Marine Corps.

Rachel Filippi is poised to transition to the district office, assuming the position of student services coordinator. This move comes after a successful five-year tenure as the principal of Sherwood Elementary School. Filippi’s career is distinguished by her initial role as a special-education teacher, followed by over a decade in various administrative capacities at the elementary education level in neighboring North Shore school districts.

Kevin Saunders is set to step into the role of principal at Sherwood Elementary School, succeeding Filippi. Saunders brings to the position a wealth of experience, having served as the associate principal of Sherwood since 2020 and dedicating nine years prior to that as an educator for fourth and fifth-grade students.

Arielle Gleicher has been appointed as the new principal of Wayne Thomas Elementary School. Her educational journey includes her recent role as associate principal at Edgewood Middle School since 2021, alongside a significant tenure as a middle school teacher and instructional coach. Gleicher steps into this role following Michael Rodrigo’s recent appointment as the district’s director of personnel services.

Colleen Goodrich is on the move to Edgewood Middle School, where she will continue her impactful work as associate principal. Her journey with Wayne Thomas Elementary School began in 2020, with her experience further enriched by her time at Red Oak Elementary School, showcasing her adaptability and commitment to bilingual education. Goodrich was named the Illinois Principals Association’s Assistant Principal of the Year in 2023.

Jaclyn Wagner has been confirmed as the incoming associate principal of Wayne Thomas Elementary School, bringing with her a year’s experience in a similar capacity at Edgewood. Her robust background includes roles as an instructional coach within Hawthorn School District 73 and as a middle school teacher across various districts, highlighting her diverse expertise in educational leadership.

Additionally, the board approved title changes for two current district administrators. Jeremy Wickham has been approved as the executive director of technology and operations, and Jeremy Davis will be the assistant superintendent for business services/CSBO. Wickham has been with the district since 2019 in various roles, including associate principal at Oak Terrace and director of technology. Davis has served as an assistant superintendent since 2021.

These pivotal role transitions will be effective on July 1, 2024. Until then, each individual will continue to serve in their present capacity through the conclusion of the 2023-2024 academic year. The process of identifying and appointing new assistant principals for Edgewood and Sherwood is underway.
