Mundelein High students collecting items for troops

A Mundelein High School student club is collecting shampoo, razors, magazines, body wash and other items for active-duty military personnel primarily serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The Helping Heroes of America Club is collecting items through April 25. People can leave donations in a large box in the main office at the school, 1350 W. Hawley St.

Travel-size toiletries, playing cards, nonperishable food items, microwaveable popcorn, gum, powdered drink mix, books, canned foods, puzzle books, foot powder, hand sanitizer, baby wipes, instant coffee, dice games and many other items are needed.
