Late-arriving mail ballots, provisional votes could come into play at District 15

Late-arriving mail ballots and provisional votes could affect who gets the third and final school board seat at Palatine Township Elementary District 15, with four votes most recently separating two candidates. Unofficial results show Samantha Bray Ader received 4,706 votes in last week's election, followed by incumbent Zubair Khan with 3,692 and Wenda Hunt with 3,273 tallies. Just on the outside for the third, 4-year seat was Adam Bauske with 3,269 votes. Cook County clerk spokesman James Scalzitti said the office must wait two weeks for all late mail and provisional votes to arrive and be included in the totals. "But every day as a new batch of mail ballots comes in, they are processed and added to the totals, and our website gets updated with these totals as that happens. This may slow to a trickle as we get further from Election Day, but we will keep updating those results as we get ballots in from voters in that district." The unofficial totals had Nina Palit in fifth place with 3,228 votes. Eight candidates were in the election.
