Two arrested after undercover drug sting in Schaumburg
Police arrested two men and recovered cocaine and marijuana with a street value of more than $16,000 in an undercover operation that unfolded in Schaumburg parking lots, authorities said.
Brothers-in-law Pierre R. Holloway, 31, of Hoffman Estates and Albert Bennett Jr., 27, of Carpentersville were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
Holloway, who has drug convictions from 2011 and 2012, was ordered held on $225,000 bail. Bennett, whose background includes misdemeanor convictions for possession of marijuana and criminal trespass, was ordered held on $100,000 bail. They next appear in court March 30.
Holloway also faces charges he sold cocaine to an undercover officer from the Illinois State Police North Central Narcotics Task Force four times between Jan. 24 and Feb. 24, Cook County Assistant State's Attorney David Mennie said.
The transactions took place in various Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg parking lots, including a Woodfield Mall parking lot, authorities said.
The men were arrested late afternoon Wednesday after, authorities say, Holloway arranged to sell 4 ounces of cocaine to the undercover officer for $4,600.
Driving separate vehicles, Holloway and Bennett arrived at the Hooters parking lot about 4 p.m. Wednesday, Mennie said. Holloway then drove to the J.C. Penney parking lot, where he met the officer and was placed in custody. The officer and Holloway then drove back to Bennett's location, where officers recovered from that vehicle 149.9 grams of cocaine with an estimated $14,400 street value and three grams of marijuana worth $1,760, Mennie said.
