Cream Bar Custom Ice Cream Sandwiches coming to Schaumburg's Streets of Woodfield
Cream Bar Custom Ice Cream Sandwiches will bring both signature and individualized dessert creations to Schaumburg's Streets of Woodfield shopping center in late August.
Owner Brett Boyke explained that his new business will offer about a dozen warm and freshly baked items to help build one's sandwich - including cookies, brownies, marshmallow treats and some gluten-free options.
Customers will mix or match two baked items and then add a scoop of ice cream from among 16 flavors. An optional finishing station provides such topping choices as sprinkles, candies and warm sauces.
Signature items include the "Chicago Dog" - a dessert version of the Windy City's famous snack. Cream Bar's version is made from a Long John doughnut bun, Nutella schmear, two scoops of ice cream, sea salt caramel sauce, Oreo cookie relish, whipped cream and sprinkles.
More traditional cones and cups also will be available at the innovative ice cream shop.
The business will occupy the former space of Red Mango in Suite 165 of the outdoor shopping center at 601 N. Martingale Road.
There is seating inside for about 12 people and, weather permitting, for about eight more just outside, Boyke said. But Streets of Woodfield also features a large courtyard with seating of its own right across from Cream Bar, he added.
While an exact opening date has not yet been identified, Boyke said it should be in approximately three weeks.
