Immigration ruling was just politics

Recently, President Obama issued a memorandum to the Department of Homeland Security which would allow approximately 800,000 children who were brought to this nation by their parents who had illegally entered the U.S. to remain without fear of deportation. They would also be allowed to obtain a work permit. In each situation, these children must met certain requirements.

This is but another version of the Dream Act. In 2011, Obama stated that he wanted to enact that legislation, but could not do so because it would violate certain laws of the Constitution. Well, he decided to do it anyway with his memorandum.

This most recent action was strictly a political maneuver by him to obtain the Hispanic votes for his re-election. That is the only reason for his action as Sen. Rubio of Florida was working on a bipartisan long-term solution to this problem at the time of Obama’s statement.

When he was running for election in 2008, Obama had made a similar promise to the Hispanic voters in that he would pass comprehensive immigration reform. During his first two years in office, he could very easily have passed that legislation, as the Democrats controlled both Houses of Congress and the presidency, but he did not.

Again he had made that promise only for political reasons and that was to obtain the Hispanic vote for his election.

Obama must have a very low opinion of the Hispanic voter to try and fool them again. He must believe that the Hispanic voter is not worldly and is very easily duped. They would be if his memorandum is the reason that they would vote for him in November.
