Heterosexual unions better for children

Two plus two makes four, not three, not five — no matter how one might feel about it. If one accepts the validity of mathematics, truth is easy to accept.

The Founding Fathers held as self-evident truth the fact that all people are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights and that among these were the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Yet before these self-evident truths were enunciated, the human species was continued through the union of one man and one woman. Despite the fact that some societies practiced polygamy, the fact remains that only the union of one man and one woman results in the conception and birth of children. Even though such union does not always result in conception or conception and birth, the union results from the way humans are made by the Creator. This union is the basis for the unique societal institution we call marriage.

Families, on the other hand, are also fundamental societal institutions upon which humanity depends. They are the fundamental institutions by which humans share their values and their possessions.

A same-sex couple living together can be family but not marriage for several reasons. They do not naturally produce children. And if a same-sex couple adopts children, the children are deprived of either a mother or a father. Extensive studies not only show that children do better in households with married heterosexual parents, but also that such families are happier, healthier and better off financially.

Yes, there are exceptions. But exceptions only support the rule.

Although objective truth is easier to see in mathematics, mathematics is not the only way to see the truth. And the only thing that contradicts truth is falsehood.
