Chicago man charged with murdering daughter
DOLTON — A suburban Chicago man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his 16-year-old daughter.
Dolton police spokeswoman TaQuoya Kennedy says Larry D. Woods has been charged with first-degree murder in the beating death earlier this week of 16-year-old Gloria Woods. A housekeeper at a hotel found the girl’s body in a room and notified police Wednesday.
Authorities said late Friday the father, a Dixmoor resident, admitted he was high on PCP and marijuana when he broke his daughter’s nose, jaw, skull and vertebrae after they argued over money. The girl, a resident of Park Forest, was visiting her father for the weekend.
Kennedy said police arrested Woods, 34, when he returned to the hotel Wednesday evening.
