Lawmakers not doing their jobs

Dear Illinois Legislators: As a lifelong resident of Illinois I feel the need to point out to you a few things that have transpired over the last couple of decades or so.

We have slipped to absolute last place among the 50 states as far as our finances are concerned. As of December, we are ranked the 44th worst state as far as unemployment is concerned. Major employers won’t invest in Illinois anymore. On a pass-fail basis, Illinois was recently graded a “D” on workman’s compensation costs based on the Work Loss Data Institute.

Our schools are underperforming and our infrastructure continues to crumble. Conversely, Gov. Quinn is touting that Illinois traffic fatalities for 2011 are among the lowest since 1921.

May I suggest that you focus on the significant issues of the day and fix the mess you have presided over for way too many years, and let drivers continue to talk on their cell phones?
