Hanover Pk. home burglarized

Hanover Park police are investigating a residential burglary at 2 p.m. Saturday on the 1000 block of Princeton Circle.

A man described in his 40s or 50s came to a homeowner's door and said he was going to install a new fence in her backyard, police said. He asked the woman to assist, while a second man ransacked the home and took cash and jewelry. Police said the man outside talked on a cell phone in a language other than English, likely with the man inside the home.

The homeowner described the man in the backyard as 5-foot-4 with a thin build, bald head and brown eyes, who spoke with a heavy Spanish accent. The second subject was seen sitting in a black vehicle. Police said residents should be cautious of unsolicited people coming to their home and then being lured out of the home or into another room.
