Dye streaking: Jermaine Dye put the White Sox in front for good in the fifth inning with a 2-run homer. He also extended his hitting streak to 11 games.

Key moment: With the bases loaded and one out in the eighth, Matt Thornton came out of the bullpen and retired Aubrey Huff and Ty Wigginton to preserve a 4-1 lead.
