Third man charged in Streamwood attempted murder
A third teen police say was involved in an attempted murder in Streamwood last week has been formally charged in the crime.
Marlon Wilkinson, 19, of the 600 block of Newton Court in Schaumburg, was charged with one count each of armed robbery, aggravated battery and attempted murder, Streamwood police said.
Court officials said his bond was set at $350,000. His next court date is March 20.
Two other teens were charged for the same crime earlier this week, but Wilkinson was not at the time. That's because he was in custody on another matter when police obtained evidence they said showed Wilkinson was involved, said Streamwood Detective Cmdr. Dan Barnes.
Authorities have also charged 18-year-old Carmichael Nation of Evanston and Nicholas Kastner, a 16-year-old Schaumburg High School student, with the same crimes, Barnes said. Kästner has been charged as an adult.
Prosecutors say the three teens entered the victim's home at about 10:45 a.m. on Feb. 28, threatened him and tried to steal a safe. The teens held down the victim before he was stabbed about six times in the stomach, chest and legs, prosecutors said. The victim underwent extensive surgery but was expected to recover, Barnes said.
