Model train show coming to Schaumburg

The World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour model train show will be visiting the Schaumburg convention center Jan. 14-15 for the first time since 2007. The show travels around the country to a few select cities with strong railroading ties each year to introduce new generations to model railroading, and typically won’t return for another five to 10 years. The Schaumburg stop will have more than 200 booths of manufacturers, hobby shops and train layouts and occupy more than 100,000 square feet. The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15. Adults are $10 and children age 15 and under are admitted free.
