  • “It’s A Wonderful Life” at Tivoli Theatre to benefit sharing Connections Furniture Bank Nov 18, 2014 3:28 PM
    George Bailey and the magical town of Bedford Falls return for “It’s Wonderful Life.” The holiday classic will be shown at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, and Sunday, Dec. 14. Admission is $5 per person. Proceeds will benefit the Sharing Connection Furniture Bank. Come early and enjoy the preshow music on the Tivoli’s Wurlitzer pipe organ.

    The Humanitarian Service Project of DuPage County is calling for donations of new toys and nonperishable food to support underprivileged children and families through its annual Christmas Offering. It has been putting gifts under the tree for local children in need since 1979. This year, it is projected to serve 350 families with nutritious groceries as well as provide 1600 children and 125 seniors with Christmas gifts.

Thirty five youth participated in a Parliamentary Procedure Jeopardy game created by Avni Patel, learned the importance of being a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer taught by Maddie Currie, Abby Daniels, Charlotte Roberts and parent volunteer Robbie Roberts.

    The approval of ComEd's Grand Prairie Gateway will put at least one area establishment out of business, a condition the owner hopes is temporary. “I'm so angry about the injustice,” Deborah Hirschberg said. “We went through all this garbage and the ruling completely disregarded that judge's recommendation. The ICC did not do what it was called to do, which is protect its citizens.”
