    Two tires were punctured between 6 and 10:48 p.m. June 29 at Alice Gustafson Elementary School, 905 Carlisle Road. Susan Sayers, 54, of the 1200 block of North Avenue in Batavia, was charged with retail theft at 3:37 p.m. June 28 at Menards, 300 N. Randall Road, according to police.

    Vandals broke mirrors and windows on several vehicles in Wheeling inthe early morning hours of June 21, police reported. The vehicles were on the 600 block of Longtree Drive, the 400 block of Longtree Drive and the 700 block of Barnaby Place.

    A motorized golf cart was set on fire at about 4:15 a.m. Wednesday near the seventh tee at Tanna Farms, 39W771 Benton Lane, Geneva, causing an estimated $1,500 damage to the cart, according to a sheriff’s report.

    Ryan J. Tinerella, 30, of Elgin, was charged Thursday with theft, according to a police report. He is accused of taking four pocket watches and four items of jewelry between May 12 and Monday with no intention of returning the items to the owner. The stolen items have a value of more than $500. Tinerella’s bail was set at $400,000 in Kane County bond court, and his next court date is July 3.

    Janet S. Delreal, 18, of Elgin, was charged Wednesday with criminal damage to property, resisting or obstructing a police officer, consumption of alcohol by someone younger than 21 and two counts of aggravated battery of a peace officer, according to court records.

    Stephen S. Potisuk, 59, of St. Charles, was charged with aggravated battery of a police officer, aggravated battery of an EMT and aggravated resisting arrest at 9:54 p.m. June 19, according to a sheriff’s report. He is accused of pushing and shoving medics and sheriff’s deputies who responded to the 44W100 block of Empire Road to treat a patient who subsequently refused to be treated.

    Thieves stole copper cable valued at $14,213 between June 10 and 13 from a ComEd substation, 1101 E. Seegers Road in Des Plaines. The offenders started a forklift in the yard and used it to carry five spools of cable to the south end of the lot. They used the forklift to raise and drop the spools outside the fence and removed the cable from the spools.

    Abraham Medina, 29, of Aurora, was charged June 15 with criminal damage of government property and theft, according to court records. He is accused of damaging an American flag and flagpole that belonged to the Village of East Dundee.

    A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries Thursday afternoon after his Harley-Davidson hit the side of a sport utility vehicle on northbound Randall Road at Fox Lane, Elgin Fire Department Battalion Chief Tim Michaels said. The motorcyclist was recovering at Advocate Sherman Hospital, Michaels said.

    Two men driving a black Chevrolet pickup truck entered a construction zone around 11:40 a.m. June 4 at 25 S. River Road in Des Plaines and loaded pieces of cast iron pipe into the truck’s bed. When confronted by an employee, the men claimed they had permission to take the items. One man was described in his 50s, disfigured right arm with large masses; the second man was described as 40-45 years old. They left northbound on River Road. Value was estimated at $500.

    Dale Sowers, 52, of Elgin, was arrested Thursday on several drug charges after police pulled him over on a search warrant, according to a Carpentersville police report. Police found .2 grams of heroin on Sowers’ person, $266 in denominations consistent with drug sales and a crack pipe with burned residue. Sowers was charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
