The Glenbard Parent Series: (GPS) Navigating Healthy Families, will present Raising a Happier, Healthier, More Competent and Compassionate Teen: The Practice of Emotional Intelligence to Reduce Stress, Gain Inner Strength and Interpersonal Success with Marc Brackett on Wednesday, Dec. 2. Educational psychologists agree that emotional intelligence has much more influence on a child's lifelong success than their IQ. Emotional intelligence helps foster happiness, grit and self-esteem. It is the ability to manage emotions to become self-aware, form healthier relationships, overcome challenges and relieve stress. These skills are an essential component of every teen's learning and lead to a more fulfilling life.
