    An objection has been filed to the candidacy of first-time Hoffman Estates village trustee hopeful Prajesh “Pat” Patel, claiming his nominating papers contain invalid signatures and that he is not a registered voter at his listed address. Patel said he expects to prevail when the challenge goes before the village's electoral board next week.

    A Hoffman Estates letter to the editor: The HYPERLINK "http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20141130/news/141139961/"article on thieves taking packages from front porches gave me a good chuckle. UPS and FedEx just leave it by your door. Years ago, my postal worker would either hide the package or leave a note to pick it up at the post office.
