Buffalo Grove was among the places that held a Flag Day ceremony last Friday. The ceremony was held at Veterans Park, 1300 N. Weiland Road.

     
  • Adult park behavior targeted in Buffalo Grove May 31, 2013 5:31 PM
    The Buffalo Grove Park District last week began posting signs near athletic fields as part of an effort to curb inappropriate adult behavior during youth sports games. “I didn’t realize how prevalent this problem was until my son played soccer, and then I eventually became a volunteer coach,” said Buffalo Grove Park District marketing manager Mike Terson.

This week, the Buffalo Grove village board said goodbye to Molinaro, who has retired from his position running the Buffalo Grove and Arboretum golf courses for 39 years. "I'll finally get to play some golf, which, when you're in the business, you really don't get to do," Molinaro said.

    Two decades of discussions about Bufflao Grove's need for a performing arts center finally are bearing fruit. The park district Monday authorized the $3.7 million purchase of the Congregation Beth Am property at 225 McHenry Road and plan to convert it into a 450-500 seat performing arts center.

    Buffalo Grove Days 2012 opens Wednesday with the annual charity softball game and closes Monday with the Rotary duck race, and in between is five full days of food, rides, music (including Casey Abrams from "American Idol," and Jamie Lono from "The Voice"), games, arts and crafts, instructional classes by the police, a business expo, parade, fireworks and much, much more.
