Board members will also vote on whether to refund $31 million in bonds, to reduce interest costs.

But some district residents say keep taxes the same, shifting some of the burden off them and on to the mall. “It’s (the mall taxes) pure money, straight and simple. It’s icing on the cake,” Sylvia Keppel said.

    Due to construction on West Wilson Street, Wednesday's Batavia High School homecoming parade will be re-routed. Parade units will begin staging at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the student lot at the high school off West Wilson Street. The parade will start at 5:30 p.m. and proceed east on West Wilson to Lincoln Street, turn right onto southbound Lincoln to Main Street, and turn right onto westbound Main, ending at the high school parking lot at Main and Millview Drive.
