"Climb every mountain, ford every stream, follow every rainbow, 'till you find your dream. A dream that will need all the love you can give, every day of your life for as long as you live," these are the words from The Sound of Music, the last musical written together by Rodgers and Hammerstein. New Philharmonic Orchestra, the only professional orchestra based in DuPage County, reflects on these words by bringing a beautiful world of musical dreams into our reality right here, on the grounds of the College of DuPage. It is happy to announce its new performance called "The Best of Broadway" that will take place at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 21 and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 22 at the spectacular Belushi Performance Hall at the McAninch Arts Center in Glen Ellyn. This great event will include Broadway favorites by the legendary team of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II and by a famous English composer and impresario of musical theatre Andrew Lloyd Webber. The audience will have a chance to swing on the waves of iconic songs from well-loved musicals such as Oklahoma, The King and I, Evita, Cats, The Phantom of the Opera, Carousel, The Sound of Music, Sunset Boulevard and many more. Beauty and charm, rhythm and touching melodies are waiting for those who will choose to spend that cold October weekend with the New Philharmonic Orchestra and its guest artists.
