Hazelton Ave. in Wheaton. The move also reduces the project's estimated price tag from $18.3 million to about $17.6 million. The school board is expected Jan. 9 to decide whether to place a referendum question on the April 9 ballot asking voters to approve a property tax increase that would allow the district to issue bonds to finance the project.

Wheaton Warrenville Unit District 200 officials used the assembly to formally pay tribute to Clifford Johnson, 84, who died Oct. 1, presenting his family with a plaque, clock and bench that will be displayed in his memory at Johnson Elementary School.

Two public sales of the bricks are slated for 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday and 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 1 at the DuPage County Fairground's west parking lot. A brick with a commemorative plaque costs $15, while a plain brick is $5. Officials have fielded requests for nearly 700 bricks, district spokeswoman Erica Loiacono said.

The reason Stokes got help is because of Title IX.
