  • Woman gets 20 days for driving school bus while intoxicated Aug 19, 2014 6:04 AM
    A former school bus driver pleaded guilty Monday to felony drunken driving for transporting West Chicago elementary students while she was intoxicated. Jill Beebe, 43, of the 600 block of Sunbury Road in South Elgin, was sentenced to 20 days in jail and two years of probation. She began serving her sentence immediately.

    West Chicago’s First United Methodist Church hosted it’s first Blessing of the Pets service Saturday morning. And you thought keeping a child entertained in church was rough. More than a dozen dogs, including the Rev. Timothy Mitchell’s two Small Munsterlander hunting dogs, two guinea pigs, some monarch caterpillars and a parakeet all received a special blessing and thanks for the joy they bring their owners. Some of them got treats for behaving in church.
