  • Huskie coaches hitting the road for summer circuit May 28, 2014 5:51 PM
    The Huskie Summer Circuit will debut in Chicago Monday, June 2, when the NIU bus heads to Joe's on Weed St., 940 W. Weed St. The Huskie pack will travel Tuesday, June 3, to Franchesco's Ristorante, 7182 Spring Creek Road in Rockford, and then will head Wednesday, June 4, to The Foundry, 85 Executive Drive in Aurora. Each event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

    The members of the Elgin Teachers Association collected over 80 boxes of food donations for the Northern Illinois Food bank over 4 days. All the food was donated, collected and delivered for pickup by ETA members. The food was collected at member work sites May 19-22, and the food bank picked up the donation at the IEA office on Friday, May 23.

    Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois offers a variety of summer camp sessions, including day and overnight camp, at Camp Dean in Big Rock, Ill. Camp Dean is open to all girls — not just Girl Scouts — in first to 12th grade. Since girls select their own experiences in Girl Scouts, they can choose to limit their participation to camp enjoyment! Girls do not have to join a troop. Financial assistance for camp is available to registered members of GSNI.
