    Business associates and even those who didn't know the Hirayamas of Vernon Hills stood ready to help Tuesday in the aftermath of a crash in Arizona that killed three members of the family. Tomohiro Hirayama, his wife, Sachiyo, and their son, Yuki, died in the accident, while 9-year-old Rinka Hirayama survived. “We're heartbroken this young girl will go forward without her family,” said Dennis Fitzgerald, vice president of customer satisfaction for Yaskawa America's U.S. headquarters in Waukegan.

The man did not have an explosive and no one was injured. Jose Gerardo Avila-Ramirez, 25 of Zion, reportedly “entered the facility and yelled that everyone inside was going to die,” according to a Waukegan Police Department news release.

Two years longer than the 45-year mandatory minimum, Lake County Judge James K. Booras’ sentence was 13 years shy of the 60-year sentence prosecutors requested.
