Lake County voters approved all eight electrical aggregation ballot questions posed to them during Tuesday’s election. Unofficial results show voters in five municipalities and three townships approved the measures that allow residents to choose different electricity suppliers than ComEd through a series of public hearings and bidding processes.

Millburn Elementary District 24 voters will decide a referendum question asking for permission to allow a larger-than-usual property tax increase just for next year. District 24's measure is one of 13 referendum questions that'll be on Lake County ballots April 9. A majority of the questions pertain to whether local governments should be allowed to seek cheaper electricity for residents and small businesses.

Some voters in Warren Township may do a double-take when they see a question regarding electrical aggregation on their ballots April 9. What they'll see in April, with the exception of a single word, will be the same question that was handily approved in November by 60 percent of those who voted.

Weibring Golf Course in Normal.

Referendums for Lake Michigan water and more on November ballots Sep 10, 2012 12:00 AM
Certain Lake County voters in the November election will get to decide issues such as whether to borrow $41 million for a Lake Michigan drinking water pipeline or seek a program designed to buy electricity at a cheaper rate. In all, nine binding and three advisory referendum questions will be on Nov. 6 ballots throughout Lake County. The list was finalized at the Lake County clerk's office Aug. 31.
