After 8-year absence, Charles Amrich mayor again in Island LakeMay 9, 2013 12:00 AM
Charles Amrich, Island Lake's elected leader from 1985 to 2005, was sworn in Thursday at village hall, along with four of his political allies. "It feels good," Amrich told the Daily Herald moments after taking the oath from McHenry County Judge Michael Feetterer in a boardroom filled with supporters. "It feels like it did a long time ago."

Voters want Mundelein clerk to be elected post Apr 9, 2013 12:00 AM
Mundelein’s village clerk will continue to be an elected position, local voters decided Tuesday. With ballots in all 21 precincts counted, unofficial results showed 1,172 people voted to keep the post elected. Conversely, 983 people favored making the clerk an appointed job.
